- Current-limiting resistance is often series-limited in a circuit to limit the current of the branch in order to prevent excessive current from burning the components in series. At the same time, the current limiting resistor can also play the role of voltage division. We collectively refer to this type of resistance as current limiting resistance.
Principle: (as shown in the figure) resistance RL is the load resistance,R is the voltage regulator adjustment resistance (also known as current limiting resistance),D is the voltage regulator tube. According to the design criteria of voltage regulator circuit, when the input voltage is basically unchanged, the current flowing through RL increases, but the current flowing through D decreases. Purpose: To reduce the current at the load end, for example, adding a current limiting resistor at one end of the LED can reduce the current flowing through the LED and prevent damage to the LED lamp.
